The average homeowner does not shop for new appliances until they have to. The common trip to the appliance store is usually precipitated by an existing appliance breaking down or by a plan to remodel a kitchen.
Knowing what is available in the market, what fits the budget and how the appliance functions within the lifestyle of the buyer is very important. The worst place to be in is the “I need it now” position when, for example, the dishwasher or washing machine breaks and a quick replacement is important.
My advice would be to plan a wish list. There are some very interesting appliances that have been introduced to the market. Investigate them on the internet or visit a reputable appliance center that offers demo/cooking classes.
